Rivard Instruments Inc. produces high quality Detectable Needles for the livestock industry worldwide. Our patented detectable needles have great strength and sharpness, and are still very detectable compared to traditional needles. Rivard Instruments detectable needles come in a wide range of sizes and lengths to meet all livestock vaccinating requirements. Metal detectors in the processing plant can readily identify detectable needles in meat, whereas regular needles usually go undetected. While all needles are made of stainless steel, traditional needles are made of a type of steel that has a very low detectability rating, but the relatively new Highly Detectable Needles are made of a special stainless steel that is more readily detected by the machines used in packing plants.
